Seaver Golf Academy Salutes Students!
Net Amateur Champion
Dan Westfall of Electronic Systems GC wins the NCGA Associate Club Net Amateur Championship.
Dan established a commanding five-stroke lead in the first round and then kept that lead
to capture the title with a net 132 total. All that hard work in the practice sessions paid off! Pacific Women's Golf Association Team Champion
Sue Galli's Callippe Preserve team won the PWGA Team Championship
at Hiddenbrooke on Sept 12 & 13. Sue had to place in the top 4 in her
78-person club just to make the team, then go through several qualifying rounds to earn the right to
compete for the Championship, then beat out 41 other teams for the title. Now that's mental toughness!
Ace Makers
Add a new Ace Maker to the list of Seaver Golf students! Mike Wilhelm carded his ace on the par 3, 164 yard 15th
hole at Diablo Creek. Super job, Mike!
But wait, there's more. Just a few weeks after his first, Mike carded another ace on the 170 yard par 3. Keep 'em
coming, Mike!
Janie Westcott carded her first ever ace on the 126 yard par 3 second hole at Dublin Ranch. She says she
practiced seeing the shot go in before she even hit it. It works! Way to go Janie!
3rd in the World!!
Who says you can't play AND teach? Eric had a fabulous tournament at the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships
this past October, finishing 3rd in the world. The results will be broadcast on ESPN on Christmas day at
10:00 am Pacific time. Be sure to catch the show!!
GOLF COACH PROGRAM transitioning
GOLF COACH PROGRAM
The popular Golf Coach Program will be undergoing a new iteration as we complete our move to
the Pleasanton Golf Center. We'll have a private practice area access to video.
Get ready to take your game to a whole new level.
Please contact Eric right away to get the details on how to sign up
for the program.
The Golf Coach program may just be the best approach out there when it comes to improving
your golf game. To the best of our knowledge, there is no other program like it in the country.
What Students are saying about the program: "I worked really hard on my short game to dial in my distances and accuracy and the next week I had 3 birdies on the par 5's at my home course.
I really feel like Eric is trying to get to know me and is interested in helping me reach my golf goals.
He makes practice fun! I would highly recommend this program to anyone who would like to improve their golf game." AK
"The past two months have been absolutely awesome. I have learned more useful stuff in a short amount of time than I have learned in the past 10 years of playing.
"I would recommend this program to any golfer who is SERIOUS about improving their game and is willing to spend a few hours per week to get into a great new routine. Some of the benefits that I have found are:
- Learn how to practice in a fun and effective way
- Learn how to create a routine that fits your personality to gain consistency
- The playing lessons are phenomenal. You get to play 18 holes with a professional once a month and get some great feedback on how you actually play. I have learned a lot about my mental game during these rounds.
- Eric and Rick are great instructors and are fun to work with. They have many unique and creative ways to help you learn.
- My favorite thing about this program is the amount of personal attention that a student gets, and how we are being challenged to try so many new things." JM
What you get:
When you enroll in the Golf Coach program you get a 9-hole playing lesson once a month and access to more than 50 hours of supervised, scheduled practice time each month with your instructor. We
will work on every part of your game with you to improve. We will show you drills and practice routines customized to your needs. And we will be there
with you for every practice.
The idea of basing the 30-day lesson plan on what we see on the golf course, and then working on that plan in a supervised setting
is proving to accelerate improvement in a unparalleled way. And it is fun! Not only are students addressing
swing issues under the eye of the coach, but they are also learning new skills and new shots every week.
"Getting the proper feeling in golf and making changes takes some time and the coaching approach provides the repetitive feedback
over several months to allow the change to take place. In the normal “take a lesson” approach you get
some instruction and than go off to try what you’ve learned, but it doesn’t often stick with just one set of
instructions. You are left with going back to purchase another lesson or to struggle on your own.
Your approach provides the continuing feed back over several months and since you pay one fee the incentive
is to make use of the practice sessions rather than postponing seeing the instructor because another fee is involved.
I am very pleased with the progress I made. Your approach has not only lowered my index, it’s enhanced my enjoyment of the game." MW

GIFT CERTIFICATES are available for any occasion. Call Eric or Rick to place your order.

Rick "The Answer Man" Laforet
on interesting rules questions.
If you have an interesting rules situation, send it to Rick The Answer Man and you may see it posted here.
Dear Answer Man,
My buddy Dennis started his round with 14 clubs.
One of them was bent and unfit for play. It was a long iron that bent on a tree shot the last time he played,
and he forgot to replace it. He realized this on the second hole when he went to use it for his tee shot.
Is Dennis allowed to replace the unfit iron? Can he borrow a club from one of his playing partners?
Rick the Answer Man:
No, he can't replace the club since he started his round with that club in his bag, and has selected it.
He is limited to the clubs he selected for that round -- unless he was using less than 14.
If the club became unfit for play during the round he would be entitled to replace it.
And please be careful about borrowing clubs from anyone.
From rule 4-4, if a player borrows a club, then the player is deemed to have added a club to his set from a playing partner set and violates the 14 club maximum. Thanks…
