1. How do book a lesson?
ans: The easiest way to book a lesson is to click on the OnLine Scheduling link and follow the directions. You will get a confirmation email, and your instructor will get a notice that a lesson time has been booked as well. You will also receive a reminder email a few days prior to the lesson (that part is automated). You may also call your instructor directly.

2. What if I need to cancel a lesson?
ans: You can cancel a lesson online yourself, or you can call your instructor. We realize that things come up, so we are generally as accommodating as possible. We do ask that you give us as much notice as possible so that we can fill your slot with other students. so we ask that you be as conscientous as possible. Generally there is no charge to cancel or change an appointment. If you simply don't show up, however, there may be a small administrative fee if you have booked and paid for a lesson online due to credit card processing charges.

3. What happens if the weather is bad?
ans: We are human too. If the weather stinks, give us a call. Rain and severe cold make it difficult to create a positive learning environment. All we ask is a phone call. We will work together to reschedule.

4. What times are available for instruction?
ans: Generally speaking, dawn to dusk. More specifically, each instructor at the Seaver Golf Academy sets their own hours and schedule. Give us a call. We will work together to figure a time that will work for everybody.

5. Do you use video in the instruction?
ans: Yes, we use video. Absolutely. Video combined with expert instruction is one of the most effective ways to learn. There is no substitute for you being able to see what is going on in your swing. We have established a strategic partnership with Inpractis - the folks who operate the 4-View video kiosks on the range - to use their software and swing analysis tools in our instruction. Their swing analysis software is available for free from their website www.inpractis.com. We encourage all our students to sign up and use the software. You can also purchase a flash drive with a usb interface to save recordings of your swing. If you are a regular client or if you purchase a series of lessons, we also offer on-line video instruction and feedback. This is a great service in between lessons to help you progress.
In our golf schools we also provide you with a video recording of your lessons for future reference. Being able to see yourself in combination with instructor commentary is the best way to learn to play better golf.

6. What is the difference between a lesson on the range and a playing lesson?
ans: On the range we are generally working on swing technique, building consistent processes, and developing swing consistency. On the course the emphasis is not on mechanics at all. Rather, we try to forget mechanics and focus on scoring.
With a scoring emphasis, we look at consistency of pre-shot and post-shot routines, swing consistency, course management, strategic decision making, and your mental process. You will often hear your instructor say on course "Target, Shot, and Thought" before every one of your swings - including putting! After your playing lesson you will likely sit down with your instructor and debrief your round. You will get feedback on problem areas, areas of excellence, and suggestions for improvement.

7. What is the best way to improve my scores quickly?
ans: practice and get better at putting and chipping. Period.

8. What programs are available for beginners?
ans: Seaver Golf Academy has an excellent progression of lesson series for new golfers. You may start at the beginning or join in the lesson series further along, depending upon your abilities. Many of the introductory series are group lessons, so you will be with others who are in the same position. That can make learning more enjoyable, and it also keeps the costs down. Check out our section on Series Lessons under the Schools & Camps sections.

9. When I learn something new in a lesson, how and when do I take it to the course?
ans: Generally, posture and balance can be integrated into your playing rounds right away. Almost any change related to the set up is relatively easy to integrate, and should be done once you can reliable incorporate the change on the range.
We always encourage players to practice in 5-ball sets to establish baselines within the practice sessions and to set mini-goals for practice. If you can reliabley repeat a swing move on 5 of 5 balls in a set, you can begin to take the change to the course. Swing changes take much longer to implent than set-up changes, so be prepared to work considerably longer and harder on those before you take the changes to the course.
